| Blanco State Park is located just outside of Blanco ,
Texas. Blanco is in the Hill Country region of
Texas. The Texas State Parks web site
has information and a map of the park. This is the second time we have been to Blanco State Park. The first time was last December. The park is very different between late fall or early winter and late spring or early summer. We did manage to get into exactly the same campsite as before - #10. |

The park was really full of people using the day use areas. All the camp sites were full. I guess this would be normal for a holiday weekend - Memorial Day. |

The Roland and Viola Bindseil Park Town Creek Nature Trail starts and ends on the blue dots in the topographical map above and to the left. What I found interesting is, there are a number of ways to go from the park into Blanco. The roads Blanco roads that terminate at the edge of the park generally have little walking trails. The nice thing about the Nature Trail is that it drops you right into the Blanco town square. To the right and below are pictures of the trail walking from Blanco back down to the park. |

The park has three bridges over the Blanco River. At the most upriver part of the park there is a dam. In the middle there is a dam. At the most down river part there is a dam. |
