2. Turn RIGHT onto N TX-1604-LOOP E. Drive for 0.3 miles.
3. Turn SLIGHT LEFT to get on TX-1604-LOOP W. Drive for 15.9 miles.
4. Take exit towards I-10 / US-87 / SAN ANTONIO / EL PASO. Drive for 0.1 miles.
5. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT to get on I-10 W towards US-87 N / I-10 W / EL PASO. Drive for 346.1 miles.

From: Balmorhea to Fort Davis
Description: Steep mesas rise from the desert floor like leather cowboy boots standing in the sand. The rich, earthy brown canyon walls create a striking visage among the scrub brush and flat lands. Mountains rise is the far distance, trimming the horizon with a deep blue scalloped edge. Stop at Balmorhea State Park for a dip in the 25-foot deep spring-fed pool, or to get a rare sight of endangered wildlife.

From: Fort Davis to Junction of SR 17
Description: The peaceful drive ambles over dusty hillsides past an oak canopied creek to grassy grazing lands. Quiet ponds lap up to green shores on the vast stretches of Texas-sized ranches. Horses roam the soft hillsides between herds of cattle. At Davis Mountains State Park enter a shady oasis of pinyon pines, oak, and juniper trees. Flowering bushes decorate your path through the woods leading to a restful picnic area or rugged trails for exploring the mountains.
